A Switch in Time : Rival Gaming's latest multi-dimensional Slot adventure

The Gambling Affiliates Union secures first term change with Affstorm

The Gambling Affiliates Union (GAU), recently formed to represent the interests of egaming affiliates, reports that the Affstorm affiliate program that manages the Casino33 has now been allowed to carry GAU's 'eye' logo after Affstorm agreed to change one of their Terms of the Agreement with new affiliates. GAU felt that this term contravened their ideals.

"By working with the GAU and changing from a very unsuitable term to one that offers fairness to affiliates, the GAU feels that Affstorm should be rewarded by GAU members and all affiliates the world over. Affstorm are showing their commitment to affiliates and that they are fair and reliable," remarks GAU on its homepage.

The GAU says in its Mission Statement that its prime objective is to "help and protect affiliates" by providing "arbitration service between union members and affiliate programs." Further objectives of the Union are, according to the Mission Statement:

- The Gambling Affiliates Union will fight for a legislated and regulated industry.

- The Gambling Affiliates Union will work with the affiliate programs to develop terms and conditions that are fair for all.

- The Gambling Affiliates Union is dedicated to improving the public perception of the online gambling industry.

Online gambling companies optimistic

In an article published last weekend, the Financial Times describes the mood of the online gambling companies as cautiously optimistic regarding their future business. The article quotes a number of Chief Executives who believe that the recent change in the approach of various EU governements, such as France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden, to online gambling, tending towards opening up their strongly regulated markets, will lead to a period of sustained growth.

“We have seen huge changes in Europe and huge growth. We are extremely confident about the next two to three years in Europe,” says Ralph Topping, chief executive of William Hill, the UK betting operator. Read the FT article
